Reality Education 4 Drivers (RED)

Reality Education for Drivers (RED) is an injury prevention and traffic safety program targeting young drivers and their parents or other guardians. This free one day course focuses on driving SECURE (wear your seatbelt!), SILENT (free of distractions like cell phones) and SOBER (no alcohol or drug use). These key behaviors are known to contribute to young driver crashes. RED includes a multifaceted classroom experience of key factors contributing to driver and passenger safety, the effects of alcohol & other drugs, distractions such as texting, crash dynamics, and survivor or victim impact. Remarks from EMS, Trauma Surgeon and Chaplain along with a behind the scenes tour of the “Path of Injury” which includes the hospital’s state of the art trauma center.
