Survive. Connect. Rebuild.

A Program of the ATS

Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston SC

The trauma center at MUSC Health provides care for patients with very serious injuries or illnesses. We are prepared 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to offer immediate care for life- and limb-threatening injuries, and provide trauma patients with instant access to the most advanced technology, surgical suites, and critical care services, which can make all the difference in saving lives and decreasing disabilities. As a Level I trauma center, MUSC Health is staffed and equipped to provide multi-disciplinary, coordinated care for adult and pediatric patients with multiple severe injuries such as ruptured spleen, broken pelvis, severe brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. A Level 1 trauma center is able to manage severe shock from bleeding, rapidly assess and treat multiple complex injuries at the same time, and provide emergency surgery 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
