Dashboard to the Knees
Dec. 12, 2019 I was hit by a driver that went through a yellow flashing light, not yielding to traffic (me) that had the right of way. I was going probably about 55 and he hit me head on/left front of my car. I never saw him coming until the front of his SUV plowed into the front left of my car. It was a hard hit at impact as I never had a chance to slow down on brake. He emerged fine. I ended up with what appeared to be a fractured kneecap….but also there ended up being many more issues with my knees as both hit the dashboard hard. To make a long story short, I’m at nearly 2 years now and am still on 2 crutches even after experimental treatments, tons of PT, surgery, and a lot of time. I still can’t walk without crutches, as my left knee can’t bear my weight.
