Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (116)

We don’t ever expect or plan for trauma. No one leaves home thinking, “I am going to get hurt today.” However, it can happen. And if it does, our patients can rest assured knowing that we have an entire team dedicated to providing the highest-quality, advanced trauma care 24/7-365 here at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Level 1 Trauma Center. Caring for more than 3,000 traumatically injured patients annually, our trauma team ensures the delivery of optimal care to injured patients through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach working closely with highly trained, experienced surgical and medical specialists and round the clock support and resources.

Our Trauma Nurse Case Managers and Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) Coordinators focus on coordinating the care experience for patients and their families. From admission to discharge, they monitor and assist in improving the quality of care of our trauma patients to ensure optimal physical, psychological, and functional outcomes are met. Visiting patients and their families on daily rounds, they use all available resources to integrate and coordinate the activities of all medical disciplines to meet the needs of patients and their families, ensuring the highest quality treatment, smooth transitions through every stage of care and support the journey through recovery.
