Geisinger Community Medical Center

Traumatic injury and violence are recognized as major public health concerns in the United States. While expert trauma medical care continues to advance, trauma survivors and their families are often faced with life-changing mental/emotional, physical, and financial concerns.

Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) has been an accredited Level II  trauma center by the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation since 1986. Geisinger CMC has been part of the Geisinger Health System since 2012.

GCMC continues with its mission to maintain the comprehensive range of services required to care for people of all ages and assist them in the pursuit of health and wellness throughout life.  To fulfill this mission, GCMC remains committed to providing access to modern, high quality and efficient trauma care services for those who live and work in the region of the trauma center serves. Our service is dedicated to the care of acutely ill or injured patients.  Our team of physicians and advanced practice providers are available, in the hospital, 24 hours a day.  We pride ourselves on providing compassionate and competent care.

GCMC services all or portions of six counties in Pennsylvania.  The service area consists of both urban and rural areas.  In the northern tier there are five small community hospitals primarily located in rural areas.  The majority of transfers into our facility are from these hospitals, which do not provide a full range of services.
