Joint Mobilization

Joint mobilization is a manual technique used by a physical therapist to treat joint dysfunction such as stiffness or pain. A therapist applies passive movement to a joint through gentle oscillations or distraction, gliding, or a sustained stretch. Mobilization is used to release tension and stiffness, decrease pain, and increase mobility of a joint.
