Certain materials in the home are more flammable than others. Furniture that is over 10 to 15 years old may be more flammable than furniture built today. This is because there are higher standards and voluntary action programs to encourage furniture manufacturers to use materials that are not as flammable such as vinyl, wool or thermoplastic fibers
