Firearm Safety

For a youth who may be potentially violent, ready access to firearms may turn the situation deadly very fast. Many severe injuries and death from firearms occur in the home and with someone that the gun owner knows including spouses and children. To reduce unintended deaths from firearms, safety prevention techniques such as child proof locks and safes are necessary. Some state laws require that if there are children in the home, a firearm must not be accessible to a child.
