Why Do People Recreate the Same Trauma Over and Over Again?

A while ago, I found this fascinating blog about psychology. It really helped me cope with the emotional stuff, so I thought I’d share with all of you.

Today’s post was about why people repeat the same accidents over and over.

It really scares me to think that I could unconsciously try to reenact the same accident to try to cope with all my traumatic emotions… Apparently the shock of a car accident, for example, is so intense that it fragments your memory (the emotional memory separates from the situational memory and nothing gets processed in the brain, so you end up with PTSD).

itanjasetsu,

You wrote that you are afraid that something may happen. I am curious to know if anything like it has happened or not to you. Would you be so kind as to share about that?

Thanks and Be Well,
Kenney
