In 2006, I ejected out of a car that lost control and my life flashed before me. The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department of Calvert County, Maryland responded to the scene and I was medevaced to the Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cleverly, Maryland. While in Shock Trauma, I was suffered with facial laceration, bruised bones, whiplash, embedded glass throughout my body and a broken nose. The recovery process was slow but I was determined to take advantage of my second chance and live my life to the fullest.
