Children

Although minor tumbles and falls for children are common during the growth process, serious falls are preventable by addressing potential risk factors. Common risk factors include unclear stairs, unlocked windows, unsecured area rugs, slippery or uneven surfaces, improper use of highchairs, baby walkers, and cribs, furniture without safety or guard rails. Simple home safety techniques can reduce the risk of falls in small children.
