Toys

In 2003, 10 children ages 1 to 9 died from choking on or aspirating a toy; three of these deaths involved balloons. At least 110 children, most of them ages 5 and under, have died from balloon-related suffocation since 1973. The Child Safety Protection Act bans any toy intended for use by children under age 3 that may pose a choking, aspiration or ingestion hazard and requires choking-hazard warning labels on packaging for these items when intended for use by children ages 3 to 6.
