Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Trauma Program (OTP) at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island

By appointment.

*For an appointment with the Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Trauma Program, please call (516) 663-1145.* Dr. Gerard Baltazar is a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon from NYU Langone Health who incorporates osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) in the treatment of injured patients. OMT involves palpation of physical body asymmetries caused by traumatic forces and relieving those asymmetries using a range of gentle manual techniques. For more than three years, Dr. Baltazar has run the novel OMT for Trauma Program (OTP) at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island, providing OMT for patients suffering acute and chronic post-injury pain and mobility limitations. The OTP has grown tremendously since its inception, and the OTP’s work has been reported at multiple scientific surgical conferences, including nationally and recently internationally at the 35th PanAmerican Congress of Trauma, Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery.
