Cardiologist (Heart)

A cardiologist specializes in cardiology, a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of heart disorders. The field is commonly divided into the branches of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart attack (myocardial infarction), heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. In addition to managing heart conditions through medications, cardiologists can perform procedures to study the heart and potentially treat certain diseases of the heart (ie. placing a stent where there is a narrowing of an artery that feeds the heart).
